We'd decided to take a look at things at Lynmouth, as to whether it looked ok to go in close onshore past Foreland.

Its probably not every day you could go this close to Foreland Point. A very grotty pic from my little digital - hopefully better stuff on my film camera..( I am thinking of splashing out on a decent camcorder - so maybe we can have some movies soon ! )

I'd developed a sort of dark opinion about Foreland Point. It always seems to be mentioned along with rough weather and terrible overfalls etc. I didn't think the first time I was here it would be 100yards offshore taking snaps !

Not far to Porlock and Minehead here - two potential anchorages for another day. I think Blue Anchor seems the best around this section though. Going in to Minehead or Watchet etc is not much use if you are going East - as you need to set off at LW, and you cannot get out of either except around HW.
